Eating Clean

Let’s talk food! We all know my vices (Pizza! Malteasers! M&Ms! Oh my!) What do I eat when I’m not indulging my inner teenager? The boring stuff of course…lean protein, healthy fat and a whole lot of produce.

Up until dinner, I eat pretty much the same thing every day:

  • Protein shake post workout
  • Two hard boiled eggs and an apple for breakfast
  • Tupperware tub filled with celery, cucumber, carrots and cherry tomatoes
  • Salad with either chicken or a can of tuna or salmon at lunch
  • Handful of nuts in the afternoon

I have eaten this exact way every week day for just over three years. Every now and then, I might have leftovers from dinner the night before or go out with my co-workers, but other than that, it’s absolute routine. I mix it up at dinner but it’s still always a lean protein with veggies and the occasional sweet potato.

Sometimes I’ll get asked how I can eat that same damn tub of veggies every day and the answer is I no longer think about it. Do something long enough and it becomes routine. And hey, if five tubs of veggies during the week means the odd slice of pizza or bag of Malteasers on the weekend, then hand me the celery.
