TGI…T?

April 3, 2014

We have the kids this weekend but as it turns out they are booked with activities on Friday evening and most of Saturday, so I’ll have the place to myself for a large portion of the time. This doesn’t happen very often so I’m planning to take full advantage.

Thinking I’ll make a lazy dinner on Friday night, go for a long run post-dawn on Saturday, maybe treat myself to lunch at Rawlicious (the local vegan place) and get a pedicure.  Doesn’t seem like the most exciting list, I know, but I’m really looking forward to it. It’s been a long and busy week and some downtime is required.

The one thing I’ll need to watch out for is my Friday night Coke Zero and chocolate ritual. So much of what we do is habit so I know I’ll want to indulge. Planning to have some fresh cut veggies, almonds and soda water on hand to keep me on the straight and narrow.  I’ll also probably re-read this article on sugar addiction from Fitbie.  Some good stuff in there!

Anyway, all this talk about the weekend and it’s still Thursday night! What about you? How do you indulge when you find yourself with some free time?

  1. I love chocolate and cookies and things like that but recently I’ve been eating these yummy vegan cookies from Trader Joe’s I found. I eat them with some fig butter on top and it is a delicious, healthier option!

    • Oh those sound great! That resto I mentioned in my post makes raw seed/berry/nut “cookies” that are pretty yummy too. Maybe I’ll pick some up – thanks for the inspiration!
