Perfect

April 19, 2014

Well much like the title says, it’s been a perfect day. If yesterday morning started off dodgy, today was the complete opposite. Rolled out of bed at 5:30 ready to hit the road and was out the door about fifteen minutes later. Had what was, without a doubt, the best run of my life. It was 90 minutes of bliss. Everything just came together. The temperature was perfect, sunrise was beautiful, city was quiet but the birds were loud and the other runners were friendly. I felt like I could run forever. Even the hills felt flat. To say I was jazzed when I got home would be huge understatement. Poor Ian got woken up by a half crazed woman on a serious runner’s high.

We left the house late morning and made the trip up to Muskoka. It’s only about two hours outside of Toronto but it feels like a totally different world up here. A few hours and a long walk later and the stress of the city is totally gone. Still have dinner tonight and that brunch tomorrow to look forward to along with a “couples pedicure” at the spa before we head home. Oh and our run! Assuming my legs cooperate tomorrow morning of course…which they will because I’ll never hear the end of it otherwise. Ha!

I am perfectly happy. πŸ™‚
